What is NEET UG?
Neet is an entrance examination for all students who want to pursue MBBS in Abroad or Study MBBS In India. Neet UG is a medical entrance exam for students who wish to take up medical courses like MBBS and BDS. This medical entrance examination is valid for students who wish to take up MBBS in private/government medical colleges and BDS in private/government medical colleges in India or Abroad.
Before there were a number of other entrance examinations like AIIMS etc. But Now the MCI (Now NBE) have decided to have one single examination for students willing to study mbbs in abroad or pursue MBBS in India.
It is compulsory to qualify NEET if you wish to study mbbs in Abroad or in India. The qualifying marks changes every year.
After the results are out there is an all india rank listbased on which the candidates are allotted seats in India. For securing a seat for MBBS Abroad the students have to qualify NEET UG as per the cut off for the particular year.
For students who wish to apply for MBBS In Abroad, NEET-UG is valid for 3 years.
The examination is conducted by CBSE and the syllabus is designed by NBE (National Board of Examinations)

Criteria for NEET UG
The Eligibility criteria is decided upon by the National Testing Agency. This annually conducted examination has some criteria such as education qualification, age limit, and reservation. The candidate who wishes to apply for NEEt UG should have Physics Chemistry and Biology in 10+2 and it is compulsory to secure 50% in 12 for general category students and 40% marks for SC/ST/OBC categories.

MBBS Counselling In India
Counselling for MBBS / BDS takes place only after the results for NEET UG is out. Qulaified candidates are allowed to participate in the counselling process. MCC (Medical Counselling Committee) is responsible for conducting the NEET UG counselling and candidates who wish to apply for the NEET counselling can apply through the MCC official website.
NEET UG Counselling is divided into All India Quota and State Level Counselling. The MCC conducts the AIQ NEET UG Counselling while respective states conduct the State Level Counselling.
MBBS Counselling For Abroad
All students who have qualified NEET UG can apply for MBBS Abroad. There are a number of countries the candidates can opt for like MBBS In Bangladesh, MBBS In Nepal, MBBS In Philippines, MBBS In Ukraine, MBBS In Russia, MBBS In Kyrgyzstan and many more. As mentioned earlier NEET is valid for 3 years for candidates who wish to apply for MBBS Abroad.
NOTE – Candidates who have passed their 10+2 from open schooling are not eligible for MBBS abroad.
